The beauty of Desolace

A video of Sar'theris Strand

Today I set my first humble steps in the world of Moviemaker and Fraps. The aim was to share with you one of my favorite places in Azeroth; Sar'theris Strand at the coast of the Desolace wastelands. Though Desolace is a grey and gloomy place, Sar'theris Strand is of a lonely and magnificent beauty. This video is of poor quality when watched full screen... but hey, I said it was a start. Cost me long enough to make it ;-)
By hitting <CONTROL +> before you click / start the video, you can enlarge the blog screen and hence the video. It's an option! :P
Tips are welcome ofc.

World of Artcraft

The paintings in WoW

As my chars travel the plains of Azeroth, marveling the beauty of its lands, the structures, the epic buildings and weird surroundings, something occurred to them. Some areas have paintings in the buildings. Most areas have not. On a quest for art, my chars discovered that most of the paintings they came across, are found in the more civilized areas, less warlike if you will, mostly areas with lots of books and other ‘civilized’ stuff. Most of the paintings are landscapes.

Notice how the first of the following paintings clearly depicts the Thousand Needles before the Great Sundering, and the third seems to be Grizzlemaw in Grizzly Hills.

However some of the paintings found in Azeroth depict persons. Especially the paintings found in Dalaran.

The most famous painting of them all has to be the painting in Stratholm, the The Archivists room. It is part of the quest Of Love and Family. On the wall in the room there’s a painting of some cosmic scenery, with planets. If you got the quest from Crusade Commander Eligor Dawnbringer, you can take the painting from the wall. Bring it back to him and he will give you The Unfinished Painting of Tirion Fordring, his wife Karandra, and their son Taelan. The painting was made by Artist Renfray, found outside Scholomance.

The honorable Tirion Fordring was once exiled for defending the orc Eitrigg, having to leave his wife and son behind. Tirion lived out his exile in a small farmstead, in the northwest of what became the Eastern Plaguelands, on the shores of the Thondroril River with his trusty horse, Mirador. During the Third War he often fought off the undead Scourge. Poor family...

Meanwhile, my chars are still on the lookout for more paintings. Let me know if you find some rare ones! Remember you have to click the name of this post to comment ;-)

Note: high level chars have to turn on 'low level quests' for the questmark to appear.
